39 Weeks

Still waiting...time has flown this entire pregnancy until Mon when time suddenly seemed to come to a standstill. I go to the doctor today so we'll see if there are any updates. The baby definitely feels and looks lower to me, but that may just be in my head.

Watching the Green Grinch...this is the only time I've ever seen a picture where I think Declan and I look a bit alike.

Santa and Cookies with Friends

Declan was invited over to his friend Will's house to make cookies on Sunday. The boys had a blast, although they only spent about 10 minutes total on the cookies. Declan insisted on bringing some Santa hats and they ran around the house yelling "ho, ho, ho" at the top of their lungs. Quite entertaining.

We also had the neighbor girls over a couple weeks ago to make gingerbread. They were much more focused on decorating the cookies. :)

37 Weeks

Well, the end is near. I've actually been feeling pretty good lately and have a decent amount of energy. I've been throwing myself into Christmas shopping, baking cookies and washing baby clothes. Work has been really busy the last couple months which has made the time fly as well. Don finishes his last two MBA classes this week so I'm actually hoping for a week or so to relax as a family, then will feel ready for baby.

Pumpkin Farm

We made our annual trek up to Burt's Pumpkin Farm and Hillcrest Apple Orchards. Declan had a ball, this was the first year he really "got it" and if it had been up to him we would have filled our wheelbarrow to the brim with pumpkins! We also got to do a giant jumping pillow, feed goats and chase chickens around.

Little 5 Points Parade

Movie Night

We had a movie night last weekend and had a great time. Lots of Declan's friends from school made a stop by and within a matter of minutes 4 little boys were in a pile on our front lawn wrestling. It was fun to see them letting loose together.

New Playground

At Declan's school they just finished tearing down their old playground and installing a new one. The parents were invited to come today for playtime and I got some good pictures of him and his friends.

New Bedding

Hippo Hop

The parents in Declan's class organized a little party to celebrate the end of the year at a place called Hippo Hop. Imagine a room full of bouncy houses and you'll get the picture. The kids had a ball and it was so fun to watch them all hang out outside the classroom.

Declan and one of his teachers, Ms. Judy.

Don is in there somewhere...

Declan and his best buddy, Will. The teachers tell us these two are inseparable and they are the two in the class that are "all boy". Constantly in the wood chips, wrestling, etc. Let's just say that Will is a hot topic around our house.

Pool Time

We've had a ton of fun at our neighborhood pool this summer. Friday nights we meet up with friends and do potluck style dinners and on the weekend we typically spend lunchtime here before we head home for a nap.

Fripp Island

For Memorial Week we had been planning to head down to Destin - we just love their beaches and the crystal blue water. But with the oil spill we decided it would be best to head for the east coast. We rented a home on Fripp Island, a resort island between Savannah and Charleston. Our neighbors go all the time so we decided to give it a shot. My mom came along as well and we loved it and had a great time. The beaches were awesome, warm water, lots of shallow parts and tons of tidepools full of stone crabs and blue crabs. Declan had a ball in the water. They also have a huge deer population - they are everywhere and walk right up to you. And the best part was that our house came with a golf cart (the primary way to get around the island) so we went for nightly sunset golf cart rides.
